Of course it reminds me of something.
It is the old town of Ipoh. This photograph was taken near the restaurants selling Ipoh's famous "Ngah Choy Kai" (Bean Sprouts and Chicken).

Couldn't agree more, Jaspreet. No value-added tax in those REAL Chinese coffee shops too, haha! And the atmosphere- wonderful (though there's no air-cond and pretty decor)!
