;;When I read this piece of news I was stunned by the intolerant stance taken by Beijing. Apparently "security reasons" is the cause of this ban. To me this is absolutely unacceptable as it borders on the ridiculous and shows how extreme the officially God forsaken country is. Athletes are also prohibited from bearing any kind of religious symbol at Olympic facilities.
Well if Bibles are banned, are Korans banned too? Well I would think Muslim athletes will surely be denied their sacred book too. As far as I know devout Muslims will not accept such nonsense. This seems like an insult on Islam itself. To take it further are Muslim headscarves banned to? They certainly are a religious symbols and they will be banned unless Chinese are hypocrites.
Furthermore, what will happen to Jews and their skullcaps? How about the Sikhs and their turbans? Well it can go on forever but the whole message Beijing is giving that they are bigoted Mao Tse Tung butt kissers money worshipers. Good job Hu Jintao your men have insulted the whole wide world.
Of course this can only culminate in one thing - the mass boycott of the Beijing Olympics. To me this would surely make my day as I have already decided that the Chinese government has absolutely no ethics and is one hundred percent morally bankrupt. All because of oil and money China ganged up with Russia to support the rape of Darfur. Genocide takes place there because they block all international efforts to stop the Sudanese. Remember the Burmese who died in their struggle for freedom! China and the Asean especially despicable Malaysia, Thailand and Singapore gave the finger to the democracy movement.

The Iraq War started in 2003.According to many sources the Iraq war has caused a sevenfold increase in terrorism. Yes, a sevenfold increase! To make matters worse they were no terrorist Iraq in the first place before the war. Using the false pretenses of supposed weapons of mass destruction under the preemptive strike doctrine brought about to destroy terrorist they (America and gang) invaded Iraq. The deposed and executed Saddam Hussien but left utter chaos behind. Civil wars are raging in Iraq. Terrorists now call Iraq the University of Terrorism (they attended terrorism school in Afghanistan). Baghdad is now the murder capital in the world. Even the humanitarian situation is worse than before the war. I call it total mission failure!
One war and America (Bush Administration) has lost its right to lead the world against terrorism (until they redeem themselves). To make matters even more dire the terrorist are back in Afghanistan ready to bounce back. These terrorist are now attacking the NATO forces there. They even control some parts of Afghanistan. You can blame opium or anything else but if America sent only troops to Afghanistan no such nonsense would have occurred.
To hell with Bush for he imperiled us all by emboldening terrorists! The world owes nothing to America but they owe us a blood debt that can never be paid.
P.S: This post is another reason why I hate politicians so much.

;;As they say, the rest is history and I would very much conclude that it wasn't a wasted effort spending and slogging 3 days in a sub par "international" hotel. Mind you, MITC is supposed to be an international hub for Melaka, located in the "Cyberjaya of Melaka". Okay, perhaps this isn't a very good start to this entry, seeing me give cynical comments on the hotel; but indeed it was rather shabby and did not potray a good image for such an international event. The organization was a bit, as I would say, disorientated; but everything took a rather cool and calm, friendly approach to people.
Skipping the sequence of events, there are a few things that I actually managed to realize during these 3 days. I would like to firstly state how grateful I am that I have Malaysian tastebuds. Throughout this event, I got to know African people and observed that during lunches and dinner, they could not eat much because their tastebuds were not accustomed to many types of different food. They did serve foreign food and we Malaysians merrily had our very own share. Asking them, they told me that the food was too salty, too spicy, too sour, too sweet. You may have never realized this, but we have the upperhand when going for international events. We just take whatever food thats comes by to us (not the Fear Factor kind though) and we don't have much of a problem adapting to eating different things.
Another one thing I realized was the importance of Sejarah or History, that we studied for many many years in high school. Gosh, you have no idea how all that studies came in handy during the 3 days there. Questions ranging from, "Why is Malaysian so diverse?" or "How did Malaysia come about?" or "What is the significance of the Red Square in the middle of Melaka?" to "Why was A Famosa built?" And it didn't stop there, at every question, there were little branches. It was a constant pop quiz. I was hyper, so I knew more people and more people knew me, I put myself in the spot vulnerable to questions, but I was okay. I loved it. I loved showing the uniqueness of my country, I loved telling them about the historical sites and our nature reserves. There was so much to say and too little time.
The event's objective itself was to come out with a declaration for the role of Youth in the field of tourism. I was volunteer as well as participant at the same time. During the discussions, I really loved the fact that there foreign delegates were people representing their countries. Not any random people who you pick from high schools or youth organizations, but leaders, and members who had eloquence and stood out. Every foreign delegate had pride in their country. They spoke with confidence and assertiveness and that brought me to question whether I would be a person worthy of representing my country in more international events.
I think it was great, the whole experience I mean. Being able to step forward as a Malaysian and tell people what Malaysia is all about and our culture and history. When in the moment, the urge to say, "my country is beautiful and unique" will just definitely come by. Also, you feel very proud when you clad yourself in traditional attire. I know I felt very Malaysian on the last night's dinner. The whole event wasn't "very much" international, but enough to give me a taste of how things can be in such an event, and I like it.
I feel like taking this one step further. I don't just want to volunteer in these events, I want to represent my country in international events. The pressure is high on you when in the moment because your country's reputation falls on your shoulders, your English, your manners, your dressing, your ethics are all under scrutiny, but in the end friendship is built, knowledge on various countries increase and finally it is all worth it.

It seems that the logo was inspired by grafitti making it symbol for the fact that British youth are decaying. How stupid can people be? All these humorous homophobia started when Poland's education ministry announced plans to sack teachers who promote homosexuality. How do you promote homosexuality? In a radio show some people even found Winnie the Pooh suspiciously gay as he had only male friends. For many young boys all their friends are boys. Are they gay too? What some "learned" people do simply baffles me.
Let's come back to Teletubbies. Tinky Winky the purple Teletubby is the character singled out as being gay. One of the ludicrous reason is that he carries a handbag. The late American bigot Jerry Falwell even once said Tinky Winky is gay for being purple, a gay pride colour. His (Tinky's) triangular aerial was also said to be a gay pride symbol. How can people be so idiotic? Tinky Winky is just a child's character, how could he be gay? Some people have forgot that being effeminate isn't being gay. King Herod was effeminate but committed adultery by marrying his brother's wife. Furthermore, there certainly is nobody had alleged the Herod was gay.

;;What are we compared to Singaporeans? We might say they are very kiasu in every aspect of their lives; they are too disciplined for their own good; some Malaysians hate their strict law enforcement down there. So are we better than them?
Take a look at ourselves for an instant, we have quite a number of faults.
- Malaysian are true devils on the road, just look at those imbeciles who weave through the highway like there is no tomorrow. Have you seen motorcyclists who wish for a horrible death? Anyone here who are speed demons like many Malaysians.
- Mismanagement is already seeping into some institutions and companies, for example there is this college in Kuala Lumpur which fails to pay part time lecturers and goes on to scapegoat one of them. We even have contractors chosen by the government who do shoddy work. Did a roof give way on top of a judge?
- "Tidak apa" attitude is already part of our culture. Most hawkers show utter contempt to the cleanliness of drains while people support such behaviour by patronising those hawkers. When someone screams for help we have idiots who stare. Even the Comrade always gets stared at when he goes out just because I can't walk.
- We youth totally fail at reading books. I can assert that most students never touch any books except their academic books. To make matters worse bookshops such as MPH are mosquitoes out to suck the blood of customers. We people also must ask our government where are our libraries? Many newspapers have also published countless articles on our book problem.
- Everyone knows that we are a corrupted nation, just look at the newspapers for stories that smell of corrupt that come out pretty often. If you dive into political blogs you may even end up shuddering in disbelief at the level of graft in Malaysia. Transparency International's Corruption Perception Index (CPI) shows that we are sinking deeper into corruption each year. Everybody also knows piracy will never be wiped out so long the underworld bribes the enforcement officers.
Need more of the ugly side of us. Yet again we have to be called people with third class mentalities with first class facilities. What a shame!
Singapore is so much better than us. Drivers there are angels albeit some still turn into devils on Malaysian roads. Mismanagement is almost non-existent in Singapore, they are top notch in management. "Tidak apa" attitude is quite alien there. Corruption almost doesn't exist down in the island and corrupt people are always jailed just look at their rankings on the CPI. Books are everywhere in Singapore as they have countless public libraries unlike us. Finally, Singapore is so ahead of us in everything, they are a developed nation while we are considered less developed for crying out loud. Still want to compare ourselves with Singaporeans?

Basic Steps of a navy shower

5. turn the water back on and rinse off the soap
This bathing method is universal to we Malaysian town dwellers. Nevertheless, many Americans don't shower this way. They keep the water on while they scrub on the soap. Of course this wastes a lot of water. As self-righteous resource wasters our way of bathing is alien to them. Navy personnel were forced to use our way to save fresh water on-board ships. It's very sad that people have to urge others to take navy showers through green living campaigns such as on sites like Treehugger. Remember that we are prudent resource users compared to many arrogant Americans the next time you read, hear and/or see anything about green living...

;;It's the deadliest shooting rampage to date to occur in the United States. A gunman meticulously prepared himself with weapons, ammunition and body armor for an assault on the Virginia Tech university campus, killing 32 people.
Rumours abound that the attack resulted from what was supposed to be a lovers' feud. His girlfriend, who was from Virginia Tech, had left him for another guy. She was the main target of the attack, it was claimed.
Details are sketchy, but investigations are underway to find out the real cause of the attack. Our hearts go out to the men and women of VT, and you have our deepest sympathies and condolences.

;;Another school/campus shooting has occurred in the US of A. This one happened in Virginia Tech university and is the worst shooting to date. Altogether 33 people including the gunmen were shot dead. Everyone knows this is a tragedy for the victims, their friends and family, and America. But, we must realise the ease of gun possession is the main cause of the tragedy.
All I can say is American lawmakers and their gun lobbyist should examine their consciences. Do these people have to be so detached from reality? Prove is everywhere that tight gun controls safe lives. Ever heard of shooting sprees in Malaysia? Maybe before 1970 there were such incidents. The UK has a knife problem which costs lives but don't result in massacres. Knife massacres? I don't think so.
Self defence isn't a valid argument for gun ownership. Guns are designed to kill not only to disable a attacker. Tasers are safer to use. Invoking one amendment in the US Constitution that permits militias is ludicrous. It's obviously an offence to have a militia under the current US government. Militias are only permitted if there's a foreign occupation of America.
Therefore, it's accurate to say guns to many Americans is about arrogance. Power comes with the possession of powerful weapons. Guns feed the classic American thinking of might. Their adventures overseas already prove that America thinks its so high and mighty. Gun possession only reaffirms this primitive mentality. Elephant seals get their harems by fighting. The strongest bull wins. Americans like Bush think like an elephant seal. The show of force apparently forces people to kowtow. That's seriously utter stupidity! The world doesn't work that way. Look at Iraq.
Coming back to gun control we see the foolishness of America. Ego is more important than lives. These people will not control guns until thousands of Americans die in a single shooting spree!
There is also a further evil in the massacre. The Western media has shown its true colours once again this time. Sure, we will all agree that the Virginia Tech massacre is worthy of mention and is a tragedy but what of the 129 civilians killed in the suicide bombing? When it comes to news, people care about things like proximity and oddity. That may be unfortunate, but it's also human nature and it's one of the first lessons in journalism. Humans are just like that. It's also too bad that Westerners think their lives are worth a thousand gold bars whereas the other people are worthless.
If we didn't think like that the world would be heaven now. No more starvation. No more wars. No more suffering. Is human nature inherently evil?

As a fan of online flash games I will tell you they are mostly purely for fun. But, some out there are actually educational. There's this game called 'Ayiti: The Cost Of Life' which educates you about poverty without the cynicism of the McDonalds game.
Basically the game is you playing dictator for a Haitian family of five. Your job is to tell the family where to work as, whether to send the children or not, what "infrastructure" goods to buy and what to do about their healthcare. The goal is to make sure the family is in a much better position after four years.
Try out the game. It's pretty educational and fun. Let us see how far your family goes after four years. A tip I'll give is money comes first, healthcare second and education third. Please be helpful too. I managed to give the family a large improvement. How will you fare?

For those of you who aren't in the Bloggers United movement (or have not been keeping up-to-date with the progress of the case), the link leads to Research on Malaysian Bloggers. ...will the proposed Bloggers' Code of Conduct build a free, regulated blogging environment, or impose a totalitarian iron rule of law?...
Well, that's partly the reason why. But the main issue in that debate was, "Are bloggers liable for slanderous/defamatory comments posted by readers on their blog?"
Here I'll talk about a new issue that's cropped up in the international blogosphere (that's right, folks, we're taking the war out of the country), starting with the Kathy Sierra incidents [read Death threats against bloggers are NOT "protected speech"].
Now the issue at hand has shifted (though not really in Malaysia) to the conduct of bloggers/commenters online. To think that people would go out of their way to shut someone up online by posting death threats against her (and it isn't just all talk - there were a few 'disturbing' pictures) is horrifying.
Hence, to counter these anonymous users abusing the freedom of the Internet, people are already uniting in a concerted effort to draft a workable and acceptable Bloggers' Code of Conduct. One such draft can be found at this link (complete with badges for people who obey the code or choose not to follow it): [read Draft Bloggers' Code of Conduct]
However, the blogosphere has not united behind this movement completely. There are some bloggers [read Segala: Do we want a code for blogs?] who say that it's up to the blogger to choose whether to adhere to the code (if an official one does come into existence). There are also those who are completely against it [read Blogger Code of Conduct? Two words - Fuck off].
Whatever the support (or resistance) to the Code of Conduct [read robhyndman.com: Blogging Code of Conduct, Redux], there are some things that are interestingly noted by commenters on the Draft Bloggers' Code of Conduct. Among them:2. We won't say anything online that we wouldn't say in person.
If blogging is international, then I would disagree with this point.
In the authoritarion and cruel regimes, if one wants to get himself hanged, only then he would in person criticize the regime. Blogging is the great and unique way of protest for the oppressed people against such regimes.
Also:What a load of bull. People should be civil to each other without it having to be 'enforced'. Who is going to enforce this code of conduct? You'll be wanting a regulatory body next, and all bloggers and commenters to register, carry cards or wear badges. The internet is free, and should stay that way. There are ways to trace even an anonymous commenter's IP these days.
Some like the idea, though:Interesting idea. A lot of the points in this draft could apply to web sites in general, not just blogs. Especially forums.
I like the idea, but I agree with other commenters about the fact that many bloggers would want to customize the code to their specific site and ideals. Maybe the code could be something like Creative Commons licenses where there are different levels to choose from.
It will be interesting to see where the debate goes from here. Is the Code threatening the democracy and freedom of the Internet? Is it actually helping to build a better, global online community that contributes proactively and maturely? Or is this the end of blogging as we know it? Whatever happens, ultimately RANDTS will be affected in its own little way as well.

How would you feel if Top Gear's host attacks one of your "national" cars with sledgehammer before blowing it up? Well Jeremy Clarkson the controversial new host of Top Gear that replaced the injured Richard Hammond did just that to one of our Perodua Kelisa.
In one article, he said its name was like a disease and suggested it was built in jungles by people who wear leaves for shoes. And on the show, he described it as "unimaginative junk, with no soul, no flair and no passion". He then smashed it, hoisted it from a crane with a one-tonne weight attached, before blowing it up.
According to the BBC our Parliament is up in flames because of Clarkson's comments. Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister's Department clearly inflamed told MPs that Clarkson was like a football commentator who cannot play football. He even told MPs, Perodua had not received a single complaint from British owners. Is this accurate? There may be a cover up somewhere.
The thing is our Parliament can't be blamed for being angry. Even I'm a little angry. By insulting Malaysians and the Malay language based on myths, Jeremy shows that he's a racist and just white trash. We Malaysians are not people who wear leaves for shoes showing how shallow and stupid Clarkson really is! If he thinks Malaysians are primitive I'll say that many of his lads are useless drunks who can't stop causing disturbances. British girls on the other hand, don't want to keep their legs shut and are stupid enough to produce more and more bastards. This shows their partners are equally wild and foolish. My comments maybe "xenophobic" but they are based on hard facts from the BBC unlike Clarkson a stupid British ignoramus. Teenage pregnancy rates in the UK are the highest in the world. Britons are also infamous for binge drinking.
Anyway, the Perodua Kelisa may be unimaginative junk, with no soul, no flair and no passion as it's actually a cheap Daihatsu knockoff. What do you automobile junkies think? 'Kelisa' is a fish right?

The Soviet Politburo learnt this the very hard and bitter way. In the 1970s all was well for the USSR especially in the military field. During that time their military prowess was on par with the Americans. Nevertheless, Soviet economists pointed out a serious flaw in Communist Russian Empire, its economy was failing. The Politburo believed their economists but just brushed the economic problem being drunk with illusions of grandeur. The late President Brezhnev talked about is slowing but still growing Soviet economy ignoring the fact that the Soviet economy was slowly experiencing total meltdown. Brezhnev being a political dinosaur brought stagnation to Russia.
The most outward signs of this imminent meltdown was an ever growing Soviet black market. Social indicators also started sliding. By the time Gorbachev opened up the Soviet Union to the rigors of the market, its economy just collapsed altogether significantly contributing to the collapse of the Soviet Union. The Soviet Politburo today is nothing but an echo of the past.
I know of certain facts that one government denies found on today's SMS your views page of The Star. Somebody has to wake up before that certain country gets "burnt".

Our politicians are surely involved.
- Then of course there is hypocrisy. Bush has yo-yoed on policy all the time. We have Chinese pretending to be neutral while shielding Sudan against the wrath of the world for genocide. We have a whole range of leaders who scream slanderous rhetoric and then conveniently denying any wrongdoing e.g. our Tourism Minister. We also know all to well that election manifestos are all empty promises. Look at Indonesia, their president promised to stem corruption but nothing has changed. Indonesia is still hyper-corrupt. Does this ring a bell?
- Politicians also enjoy raping Mother Earth by proxy. The Japanese want to reintroduce whaling when whales are still very threatened all to inflate their ego. European fishing ships are overfishing the West African coastal waters with politicians helping them by blackmailing West Africa by putting sanctions on the table. All this because of being bribed by fishing companies. Our government (politicians) allowed the leatherback turtle to go extinct locally.
