Melodramatic header, I would say. Very simply, hi all. My name is Eolanda or Eries, the online name I go by.
I was invited into the blog a day back and cracking my head on what kind of entrance I should give. When thank goodness, Shine placed a precedence before me. I came across this blogging community from randomly clicking a friend's blog and when I saw it, my 1st impression was, "Hey, sounds fun. Looks like something I'd like to get into." I left a message on the chatbox and the rest, as they say, is history.
I've been a blogger since 2004, though I admit to having a rather shallow beginning to this "career". I am not very much of an opinion-based blogger as you can see if you have ventured into my blog. However, occasional spur of thoughts do occur in my life. When that does happen, I'd like people to know what I'm thinking, meaning, feedback is very most encouraged.
Not trying to stereotype people in the blogging community, however, I do believe that bloggers should be open minded. When letting out our thoughts through the web, we allow people from all walks of life to view our words. Its a wonderful way of getting different perspectives of things and personally, thats why I love the internet and blogging.
Getting more upclose and personal with me, I am now 20 years old (sadly no longer a teenager) and a Law major in Multimedia University, Melaka. Yes, many people do not know of the existance of this course in MMU Melaka but I assure you it does exist and is not all that bad. Personality-wise; I can be very direct and honest with you. I can be sensitive, but at the same time I can be like a rock; paradoxal I'd say. But most of all, I can be crazy!
I love art, craft, designing, music, poetry, gaming, cooking and well, etc. It's funny that I'm taking Law, I know, but sometimes a girl's got to do what she's got to do :) Well, I don't want to bore you with the details (very cliche excuse), but well, ask me personally for further information, or just pop by my blog.

Hihi all, I am Shine.
Ok, that was a stupid intro, but heck, hihi, my name is Shine. No, seriously, my name is Shine. My full name is L0w Y3n Sh1n3 (I have decided to 1337 this for privacy issues...). Why do I have such a pathetic last name? Cause my dad added E to Shin to make it look cool, but too bad he doesn't understand English.
Anyways, I have been invited by Jaspreet to join this blogging community and I was like, hey, why not? As to why he wanted to invite me? Lets just say that both of us have nothing better to do, and out of nowhere he just goes like hey, why don't you join RANDTS?
I was like, wtf is RANDTS?
Then he gives a long story of this that this that blabla whatever...
Then I was like, ok, sure!
And so here I am.
Ok, as Jaspreet asked me to, allow me to post a little introduction regarding myself.
First and foremost, I am an 18 year old little boy, of Chinese descend. I am short, fat, ugly, and totally below the standard level of socially acceptable looks. I will not post my picture here so that it will not shatter your LCD monitor. I am currently finishing A-Levels in KDU, and will be going to the States this August, and National Service this Saturday. Ya, I know, life sucks.
Personality wise, I am obnoxious, annoying, selfish, egoistic, emotional, and curse more times a day than the grain of rice you ate last dinner. My sole interests are games, namely DOtA, CS 1.6 (CS Source sucks) and a few other PC/PS2 games. I am highly anticipating Starcraft 2 now (ya, just like you Albert). I honestly couldn't care less about exam, studies, lecturers, tests, projects, assignments, yadda yadda yadda.
So ya, thats a pretty basic idea of who I am. If you want to know more, feel free to ask. That is, assuming you want to know lar. Anyways, glad to be joining this blogging community. =D
Ciao. I <3>

I'm clueless when it comes to writing introductory pieces about myself. When posed with THE long-suffering question,"Use 3++ words to describe yourself..." I'm stumped. It's not that I have an identity crisis; just concerned whether I might seem vain if I used the wrong words.
However, since Jared requested...here goes:
I'm Yi Wei from Ipoh. Was from MGS Ipoh, just got my SPM results and am currently on the lookout for scholarships.
I love art, books and music. Doodling is my major bad habit but it does make my notepads more interesting. I would like to take my dad to Italy once I hit my goldmine to see all the art collections they have (it's also the birthplace of Leonardo da Vinci, whom we both admire). I read almost anything on hand, except for romance novels. I'd like to get my hands on more Tolstoy and Neil Gaiman's 'Sandman'. Lord of the Rings, the Darren Shan series...Philip Pullman's 'Dark Materials' trilogy are some of my favourite reads.
Music...I used to listen to Linkin Park a lot in Std. 6, then joined the angst crowd by plugging in to Avril Lavigne, Good Charlotte, Blink 182. I now favour Muse, the Red Hot Chilli Peppers and this Jap band named KAT-TUN. Classical music-wise, I lean towards Chopin and Debussy. I also enjoy playing/listening to Gershwin (yeah I play the piano).
Other bits of info:
1. I like organisation. Like numbering my personal details here.
2. My biggest dream is to be a nuclear physicist. However, since my Physics is barely passable, I'm forced to look to other flanks.
3. I am left-handed.
4. I'm a bit obsessive-compulsive. Certain things HAVE to be done a certain way and in a certain order.
5. I admire Vincent van Gogh both for his artworks and his personality.
Last words: I'm really glad to be invited to join RANDTS! Will attempt to post lucid entries. Please comment so that I won't stagnate. Hope to know all of you better too =D

Are You a Lurker? If You Are, It's De-Lurking Time
1 mad rant(s) » Add your own! RANDTed: stmaverick at 10:25:00 PMApparently, National Delurking Week was in the second week of January. However, since RANDTS only really kicked off in the first week of February, this post can be considered long overdue. About three months overdue, in fact.
First, to define the term 'lurker'. Generally, this refers to people who read blogs or join chatrooms/ newsgroups but do not participate in commenting (courtesy of Veerle's blog). Of course, this isn't something new - and yes, it can be cured.
RANDTS has always been intended as a place for the youth community to gather, read and discuss issues about the world we live in. If we have barely any contact with our dear readers - and that means you, my friends - then how will we know if we're on the right track, or whether we're discussing something that you want to talk about?
Here's an idea: leave a comment here on this post about who you are (are you still a student, are you working, where're you from, etc.). Doesn't matter that you just stumbled across this blog through a search engine or a random click, or even if you've left a comment or tagged our blog before - leave your details anyway!
In that way, we here at RANDTS can get an idea of who reads our blog and if we're doing well enough a job or not. If you'd like, you can leave your ideas and opinions about the posts by any of the RANDTSters (or blog members), or even what you think we should do in future. *grins*
Now that the red carpet's been rolled out, what are you waiting for? Hit me back! I'd love to get to know you better!
P.S. - For more information about lurkers, check out this article on Participation Inequality.

Believe me, I'm not being vain here. If I see such people rushing towards me with this banner, I'd certainly run for my life first! All right. Some of you, if not most, should have already known me by now. But just in case you don't, here's a post that will be different from my previous two, where I posted up two rather serious types of posts. In this post, allow me to let you know more about "yours truly" here.
Right, basically this post will highlight a bit more detail about me, which perhaps isn't so interesting after all. You decide for yourself.
How shall I start? Perhaps you should know about "what people say about me":
- I am a mellow person (thanks to Joe *glares*).
- I am nerdy (Jia Min! You'll get it from me! Haha...).
- I have the "scholarly" type of look (or was it last year?).
- I am musically talented or gifted (wherever Henry goes, the piano follows).
- I am an "over-semangat" person (?!?!).
Now, it's time for "what I say is about me":
- I am rather a conservative person (but gradually opening up).
- I like to have more friends (because I'm the only child).
- I can also play the cello, besides the piano, although my major is piano.
- I am extremely enthusiastic about music, especially Classical ones, but now I am opening up to more genres like Rock, R&B, Heavy Metal, etc. (I'm not oblivious to who Victor Wooten, Joe Satriani, Eric Johnson, Celldweller, Metallica, Pantera and many more are, OK?)
- I like to try new things, if I can (including accepting certain challenges).
- I have a large appetite, but with enough exercise, I am not
reallyhorizontally challenged.
Anything else that you should know?
- I plan to have a public performance examination by next year for the subject of piano. It's a Diploma in Public Performance exam. If I do have it, I'll tell you about it. Wanna watch it?
You'll have to pay for the admission fee.Nah, it will be a free-for-all performance. - I live in a city where the university is just 40 minutes away; yeah, sometimes I wish that this campus is in Kuala Lumpur or Johor Bahru.
- I have a dream of organising a musical in my university. It can be Broadway or anything. But it's a large-scale project, so I don't know if it's gonna work out at all.
- I enjoy watching shows like "The Phantom of the Opera", "Les Miserables", "Chronicles of Narnia", "Poseidon",
"Happy Tree Friends"and the like. - My favourite composers include Beethoven, Brahms, Chopin, Debussy, Liszt, Moussorgsky, Ravel
and myself. - I am currently trying my best to brush up on my Mandarin (I'm not Chinese educated, but I can speak Mandarin fluently, read and write quite well).
- I am pursuing a course for Civil Engineering, which might call for me building oil platforms and the like for my first few years in work (I'm bonded to PETRONAS).
- I have recently accepted the Lord (OK, maybe not so recent after all).
I am rather out of topics to write, though I know there are various topics that I could choose. I would like to write about something not so factual, but I can't seem to find the appropriate topic for my style. So here goes something random. Well, if I don't write something random and deal away with it, I'm afraid I'll be stuck with this idea until I write it out here.
Oh, just to let you know. If in case I haven't added you into my Windows Live Messenger (or MSN Messenger) contact list, please add me, yeah? My e-mail can be found in my profile. But please do identify yourself if I can't recognise your e-mail address. If you have Google Talk, you can do likewise. Just get my MSN address, remove the @hotmail.com and replace it with @gmail.com. Job's done.

Greetings fellow RANDTSters!! Seems like I'm the only one who hasn't post a thing albeit being named as one of the 13 RANDTSters, thousand apologize as it's really been a crazily packed week for me. My first post this week is of course dedicated to R.A.N.D.T.S.
First and foremost, I would like to say "Hi!!!" *waves ecstatically* to all the RANDTSters, readers and bloggers out there!! And Jared, thank you so much for the invitation! I knew my blogging is no where near all of the RANDTSters standard, proficiency in language & also topic coverage wise - I was in awe as I carefully read through each and every post! It's definitely a great place to get acquainted with people from different places, share our stories, thoughts - and also something beyond our daily encounters. My intuition tells me that R.A.N.D.T.S. is capable of becoming an influential blog. I guess when all of RANDTSters unite, nothing is implausible.
Before I go further, let me do a brief introduction of myself. Well, I'm wenLi from Land of Hornbills - Sarawak, currently residing in Kuching. I've started blogging since late 2004 & has developed from "once in a week update on petty stuff" to an avid blogger who spends at least 2 hours on blogs related everyday. I was actually influenced by my sister to start my own blog, Life as a kid. One thing's for sure, I didn't know much about group blog, bloghopping, or cuztomisation of blogs back then - it was kept to myself and well quite dead and boring, but my interest propelled early 2005 after I've started to read influential blogs and you know what? I couldn't stop since then.
To me, blogging enables self discovery and improvement. It's trained me to be more observant, careful when I pen down my thoughts and to think out of the ordinary. Especially in terms of writing. I'd noticed a big change there in comparison to my first few entries. I've also earned myself number of friends in the blogsphere. What can I say? I've earned more than I'd expected. Like what an accounting student would say, this is a profitable investment.
Yea, I was a student from Science stream but I'd given up on it & decided to choose accounting (CAT/ACCA) as my tertiery education route. Still, I can't say that this is my sole destiny. It's not exactly a road not taken - but definitely a path I've not walked for a while. So far so good I must say. I also love music, plays some instrument but my skill is hanging bare at the moment. Other than that, I guess I'm just an ordinary girl who loves to talk, shop, gossip, the usual.
Okay, guess that's all for now. If you wish to know more about me, feel free to add me in Friendster, MSN Messenger etc. (Just head on to my profile and it'll lead you to my email.)
Once again, it's a pleasure to be part of R.A.N.D.T.S., a proud RANDTSter!!

Dear blogger mates,
First of all, i just wanna give a HUGE HELLO!
Nice meeting you all here. Thanks to Jared for the invitation.
I'm Melanie from JB, just turned 18 last 20th December. I know. I'm so freaking young!
Currently doing my Upper 6 in a peacefull school called Sultan Ismail(aka SSI) where the school only cares about studies and NOT CC activities.
I'm in the arts stream now doing Econs, History and Malay Language studies.
Got pretty sick of science when i was in SPM year.
I've started blogging since 2004 when i am willingly to go on the net from the afternoon till the next morning and then continue going to school at 7am.
From Modblog to Moblog to Blogspot to RANDTS now.
In another word, i love blogging.
In my current blog, i blog bout almost anything at all.
From my life to movies to musics.
I design all of my blogskin with my Adobe Photoshop Elements 3.0.
It's the only thing i'm good at beside camwhoring in front of the camera and singing.
Besides blogging, i love music.
I listen to all sorts of music. Especially soundtracks from One Tree Hill and The O.C and great vocals from Fefe Dobson, Gavin Degraw & etc...
And i kinda like singing too.
My cousin and i will normally get together and record song tunes and post it on the net.
For demo, visit my Imeem Profile.
Listen to the one with pictures.
We're both crazy when it comes to music.
I might not know how to play any instrument, but i would like to learn guitar one day when i'm free.
Life is just hectic in Form 6.
I have a bunch of beautiful friends. And we named ourselves, Radical Dreamers.
We're just beautiful.
Visit my blog for their beautiful faces.
And i can't deny that i'm beautiful too. I'm vain too.
But no worries, i ain't a BIMBO.
I'm good in HTMLs and Photoshopping. At least...
That's all for now.
Come back again for more of RANDTS.

Hullo everybody,
I'm officially and RANDTSer today. I'm truly honoured to able to join the club.
My name is Albert Wong. Call Comrade Cripple if you wish. As my name implies I'm a cripple. I suffer from Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD). If you guys one to know more check out this post on Maelstrom (my "personal" blog). If you already "know" me, I'm the disabled boy that scored straight As in the 2005 SPM. But that is that.
When American Supreme Court Judge candidates are chosen they are grilled by Congress about their views on American issues such as abortion before they can be appointed. There is no such grilling here but let me outline my philosophy. To me positivity should be a way of life. I also despise people who use hypocrisy, deceit or/and murder to achieve their goals. Sometimes outcomes can justify means. However, most of the time outcomes are just selfish. Here I am talking about politicians. My cynical point of view is politicians are pathological liars, every single one of them.
Now let's move on to my life. Currently I'm having holidays but shall be beginning my degree course in KDU in March. I'm going to study for a University of London degree in Law. It is going to take three years. I will become a lawyer I tell you all. My favourite TV shows are 24, Prison Break and Heroes. I download them through Bittorrent. I watch a couple of animes on Astro too. Anyway I have not read a single book till this day but I'm well read. That's all for now about myself.
Here at RANDTS I will post opinions and personal experiences. Comments are greatly welcomed. Send any request and questions by commenting on my posts or sending me an email.
May everyone have a long fruitful life!
Cheers!
Bye for now.

Wowie! I see everyone, well almost, have already contributed. Anyhoo, my turn, I'd say!
Starting off, me name's Siti 'Afifah. Call me CT, Tot, Beluncas aka Lunc and other nicknames that can be derived from my name is fine by me.
Anytheway, I'm from Ipoh. Currently trying (and hoping) to finish my Foundation in Arts by this April. But at this moment, I'm lounging at home, praying for my friends to return to Ipoh ASAP...which reminds me, anyone out there interested in going out, please, pleeeaaassseee give me a call.
I am a self - confessed night owl who is addicted to Westlife and practically obsessed with Mark Feehily (google him for more info. Haha) A bookworm. A universal music lover. A duck lover. Tech ignorant...
I live by one principle : "Behave like a duck. Keep calm and unruffled on the surface but paddle like crazy underneath"...
So yeah, you won't really get to see me panic unless it's a major crisis such as losing my Student ID on the eve of my last paper (it happened...)
...And I love the name Acland.

Seriously. I do not know how to write this post. *laughs*
As opposed to other Randsters with their impeccable writing and creative introductions, I'm basically a nobody who loves to enjoy life as much as possible (though certain circumstances disallow that). Life's a routine these days, with nothing much but lectures, assignments, gossips, potholes and dilemmas to offer. Well, I'm being a realist for the time-being, so excuse the rather negative outlook on life itself.
The paramount objective of this particular post however, is to introduce myself to my fellow Randsters and readers, and not to rant on and on about the monotony of life thus far. If you're really interested in my rants and ramblings, which I don't think you do, just click here to find out. Yeah, that's the link to my blog. One could know me better that way.
So what is there to know about yours truly?
One.
I'm eighteen this Halloween.
Two.
I'm a Malaysian Chinese. Who speaks more English than Mandarin, Hokkien and Cantonese.
Three.
I'm not really a 'banana'. I do look like one, I guess.
Four.
I'm into art- photography, music, choral singing, theatre, fashion, food... (the list goes on)
Five.
I'm an avid blogger, reader, trouble-maker, teaser, amateur photographer, wannabe-singer, human hi-fi, and critic. Oh, some people say I'm a dramatic being from planet Pluto, or was it Mars?
Six.
I'm currently studying Cambridge A-Levels in Brickfields Asia College, Kuala Lumpur. I'm taking Economics, Law and Business Studies as subjects, and futsal and basketball as extra co-curricular activities. Haha, I haven't tried those sports before. It will be very different from swimming, netball and badminton, right?
Seven.
I'm chosen for National Service (second batch). I have second thoughts on going.
Eight.
I'm partially blind without my -600 'powered' glasses, or contact lenses.
Nine.
I'm good at procrastinating, lazing around and doing nothing.
Ten.
Well, I ran out of things to say, haha.
I know I'm lame.
Have fun blogging everyone!
Thanks Jared for the invite!
P.S. I suggest we add each other in MSN Messenger to establish stronger ties (My MSN's in my blogger's profile). And eventhough my name's Hui Wen, I prefer to label this post with 'huiwen7' instead. Seven rhymes with 'wen' in my case...

Hi, folks. I'm going to keep this as uncomplicated as I possibly can.
First up, the name's Khael. You can call me Khael. Don't matter to me how you pronounce it. Some call me Ka-el, some Ka-eel, some Kylie (?!), some... erm, I think you catch my drift. But really, as long as it sounds like a K, put together with a H-A-E and L, I'm OK with it.
See? I'm complicated, no?
Moving on......
I hail from the city of Ipoh, where I've lived for nearly 16 years. The other 3 years of my life were spent somewhere else. Long story...
I consider myself to be knowledgable in the field of football and nonsense. Yes. You read right. I consider myself an expert in nonsense. So, if you think you want to know about things you don't really want to know about, drop me a line.
Other things you should know about me is the fact that I am a mega-huge supporter of Man United and an ultra-massive fan of Keane. I also follow wrestling quite religiously, despite my physique being nowhere quite as impressive as theirs.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to exchanging our opinions here, despite me not knowing y'all personally, with the exception of Jared, Guo Zheng and Tim.
Cheers.
P.S. The title is intentionally French-ized. I have a habit of French-izing all my blog post titles, for reasons that I myself do not know...

[Left foot...right foot.. Clears throat. Stretches arms. *Ready to type* 3, 2, 1, GO....]
He-llo everyone... I'm Esther, currently studying in the SAM programme in Taylors UC. This is my first time participating in a group blog and I must admit it is pretty cool. I have been blogging for two years now and it is all because of Jared that I have a blog today! (and also in Project R.A.N.D.T.S.)
About me: I don't do so well with the first of everything- first post, first speech etc. Give me some time for me to adjust to this new environment. I am a curious person which drives me to do silly but yet educational things. For instance, have Jared to find out who invented the necktie and have him listen to my silly theories about 'If the world is flat,...' I love Korean music and stuff which other teenage girls like as well. Well, you'll know more about me later.
In other words, curious + loquacious + weird stuff + humour? + whacky = ME
I also hope that this blog would be well-known in the blogosphere. A blog which has the WOW power- that is to make people go WOW when they read this blog. Allow me to quote Jared, "Now, here we stand: one blog, many bloggers, and even more ideas."
So, what say you? Are you ready to rock this blog and make it the hottest one yet? I don't know about you guys but I am ready to give my all to this bloggie. *Whoo-hoohh Wheeee*

With this post, I mark my arrival in R.A.N.D.T.S. and a new beginning in my blogging experience. Some of you may know, I do not have a blog of my own (that explains why my name doesn't link to any blog), so to be honest I knew relatively nothing about blogging or whatsoever that has to do with it... In fact, the first I heard about the word "blog" was from one of our own... Miss Melanie Ng. I didn't even know what it meant at that time But after coming to UTP, Jared had this idea of having a group blog amongst our uni mates, that was what got me into this thing I guess.
*pauses and thinks while my roommate asks me to play DotA*
*long pause*
Anyways, I'm sorta trying to find my "groove" back (I kinda contracted this sickness called "writers' block", which is as common as flu these days), since I met with a few disappointments over the past few months... crippling my ability to write and dulling my passion for blogging even though it is very addictive. Hopefully, this new beginning will help me to be able to complete a freakin' post under 2 hours once again find that enthusiasm for blogging again.
Enough about my background and about me. I think it's really cool that we actually get to be in some form of a larger-scale collaboration with different people, beyond the boundaries of UTP and those whom I know. Ironically enough, we are all loosely linked together at the moment by 1 thing- we all know Jared a.k.a. Maverick. Come to think of it, personally I never thought that "crazy suggestion" I gave was going to become something I'm doing at the moment.
*turns on some music in an attempt to break the now silent atmosphere in the room*
I'm really looking forward to watching this new project develop. Who knows, we might even have "R.A.N.D.T.S." in lights in the near future... Even though it sounds a little crazy to suggest at the moment.. hehe.
Oh yeah, after all this I forgot... Where are my manners? A big "Hello!" to everyone I will be working with on this new project. The name is Josiah Tay... If it's too hard to pronounce, "Joe" will do just fine =)

Hi, hi, hi! Before I proceed, let me extend my heartiest welcome to all the Maestros and readers here to R.A.N.D.T.S.
For most of you, this must be a new experience for those who have not experienced what is it like to have a group blog. As a blogger who has experienced it before, I must admit that it has been a wonderful experience, being able to exchange views, keep myself up-to-date to what is happening around the world and perhaps even experience personal changes!
OK, something about me. I know that most of you know me, but just in case you don't, my name is Yew Guo Zheng, better known now as Henry Yew, especially in the university where I'm studying in now.
Currently a student of Universiti Teknologi Petronas, I'm taking up Civil Engineering and my coursemate is Josiah Tay. Maverick (or Jared) and Khael are also studying with us in the same university, though in a different course. If you have any problems pertaining to Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry (not so much), don't hesitate to ask me, yeah? *Chuckles*
I actually started blogging five years ago. When I first opened my blog, I found that it wasn't successful because I had almost no readers and I didn't have the commitment to keep a blog. Then two years ago, I got myself a new blog and tried to publicise it. Until now, my blog is still active.
Although I may be musically gifted (not bragging here, yeah?), I would more often not discuss about music. Instead, my issues of interest in this blog would most likely include university life, politics, social issues and science. Of course, if I have anything else which I deem is interesting, I would post it up here, too.
I do hope that with so many Maestros (affectionately known as Randsters) around, R.A.N.D.T.S. would flourish unlike any other blogs and may become one of the most popular blogs in the blogosphere. I hope that each and everyone of us will join effort to see this new blog grow.

My name is Brian Woon. I'm a student in UTP taking chemical engineering. I call myself Gungrave1988 because I was sort of influenced by an anime & game with the same title "Gungrave" & I was born on 18 August 1988.......(Don't look at me! It's just a nickname i came out with. It's not my fault if it sounds bad)
This is my first time blogging. I sort of decided to give blogging a try after being influenced by my room mate, Henry & my friends, Joe & Jared. I'm basically an AMG (Anime, Manga & Game) freak. I will review about anime, manga & games. I'll also post about other things that might sound interesting & worth posting. I still got much to learn about blogging. I won't make my introduction a long one since I have nothing much to say. So to end this introduction, I would like to say that it's a pleasure to meet everyone & let's make R.A.N.D.T.S THE COOLEST BLOG EVER!

In the beginning, there was nothing but meaningless collections of randomly arranged bits and bytes, useless data that existed on a computer system somewhere in the world.
Then Maverick came and started the Project, metamorphosing data into information...
A group of friends and I had actually started a project of our own some time back. For reasons still mystifying to us, it failed; not as in a great-resounding-crash-from-the-heavens failure, but poisoned-and-slowly-dying kind of failure, which made it even harder to bear.
Hopefully, the lessons from that failure have been well-learnt, but before the smoke has even cleared we're embarking on another project - so grandiose in its scale of execution that it isn't a project anymore, it's the Project.
This is our Project, our RANDTS.
When people asked us, "Why are you doing this?", we really had only one intention in mind: fun. Then slowly as we really thought hard about the Project we realized that it would benefit us in many other ways than providing us something to do in our free time (not that many people have a lot of it).
For one, it would actually help loosely-connected bloggers develop friendships with each other; secondly, it would expose a lot of us to things we wouldn't normally blog about on our own. Thirdly the Project would also serve as a forum of sorts for our randomly generated ideas, thoughts and opinions, where we can discuss and talk about issues that are brought up here.
As the idea slowly developed and gained momentum, support from a number of bloggers I got to know helped push the idea out of its infancy into something more concrete. Now, here we stand: one blog, many bloggers, and even more ideas. I was torn between setting a common theme for the other bloggers here to follow, and giving them free rein on what they wanted to post. Perhaps, for now, I won't impose anything just yet.
Of course, these days bloggers have had it hard; the recent NSTP vs. Jeff-Ahiruddin case goes to show that there are limitations to what can and cannot be said on the Internet. While this landmark case is still in progress, its potential implications to bloggers in Malaysia are enormous. Although it goes without saying that one would hardly find such "controversial" content here on RANDTS, this case is still one to watch for the consequences it may bring to the Malaysian blogosphere.
Serious matters aside, I now declare this blog open to posting. Let the fun begin!
~verus rara avis~
P.S. - Maestros! I suggest beginning with a short, simple introductory post about yourself, your expectations from this blog, what you thought of the idea at first, etc. If you want to put up a really flowery post, by all means go ahead... *wink*
