Purple Blob Thingy

Guess what creature this is?

Discovered only about four years ago in India, the Nasikabatrachus sahyadrensis is a “chubby, seven-centimeter-long, purple amphibian with a pointy snout.” It was found hopping around in the Western Ghats, a range of hills in western India.

Scientists have given it the name Nasikabatrachus sahyadrensis, from the Sanskrit word for nose (nasika); batrachus, meaning frog; and Sahyadri, the name for its mountain home.

For those supporting evolution know that scientists who describe it in the journal Nature, the frog is a beautiful find because of what it tells them about Earth history. It is an important discovery because it tells us something about the early evolution of advanced frogs that we would not know otherwise because there are no fossil records from this lineage.

The purple frog is what is known as a living fossil.

Its head appears too small for its body and it looks more like a squat, grumpy blob than a living creature.

Problem this frog is endangered. It only lives in the Western Ghats. But we could breed them and keep one as a pet. Lolz

WOW!!! That is really a weird looking frog. Kind of looks like a purple jelly frog. Lol. Where did you get the information bout it?

Now this is interesting. It's another clear piece of evidence that the theory of evolution was not concocted by scientists just to throw a slap into the face of religionists. The natural progression of the features of this (pre-frog?) to the sort of amphibians we have today is quite noticeable.

[gungrave1988]: I find a lot of stuff using Digg and Reddit. Google them to find out more.

[maverick]: The purple frog is a primitive frog. It's a relict of the ancestors of advanced frogs.
